Lila Leno, CPA, MBA, is a partner in the audit and accounting department of Calibre CPA Group and has been in public accounting since 1996. Lila has deep experience working with not-for-profit organizations, including national organizations, supporting organizations and other not-for-profits. She has significant audit experience with Uniform Guidance for organizations receiving Federal awards and has a working knowledge of government grant administrative requirements and cost principles. She also has experience with employee benefit plans. Lila is a member of the firm’s Audit and Assurance Committee. Lila is also involved with the preparation of Federal Forms 990 and 990-T and works to solve issues pertaining to tax-exemption status.
Lila’s responsibilities include all aspects of engagement performance. She works closely with the audit team and clients to facilitate completion of all components of audit engagements. She is responsible for audit engagement planning, overseeing fieldwork, reviewing work papers, interfacing with client executives, participating in audit presentations to client governing Boards and providing final audit documents to clients for distribution.
Lila has a B.S. in Accounting and Finance from the University of Tirana in Albania, as well as a JD and Ph.D. She also received a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Sonoma State University in California in 2001. She is a licensed CPA and a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Greater Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants (GWSCPA). She is also a member of the Nonprofit Section of GWSCPA.
Lila is also involved with the community and presently serves on the Board of Directors and Audit Committee of Free the Slaves, an organization dedicated to liberating human slaves and changing the conditions that allow slavery to exist.
