Joseph R. Morello, CPA is an audit partner in the New York City office of Calibre CPA Group and has been in public accounting since 1998. Joe specializes in providing auditing and consulting services for all types of Taft-Hartley multiemployer employee benefit plans.
Joe’s responsibilities include all aspects of planning, conducting, and managing audits and compilations of employee benefit plans including financial statement preparation and presenting audit results to Boards of Trustees. Joe helps clients with developing, monitoring and implementing appropriate internal controls as well as establishing suitable shared expense methodologies. His experience extends to reporting compliance, such as preparation of Forms 5500 and 990, assisting with governmental audits and investigations, as well as overseeing the New York office’s payroll compliance department. He continually provides clients with updates on the latest auditing, accounting and compliance requirements to assist them in fulfilling their fiduciary duties. Additionally, Joe maintains a close personal relationship with clients during the audit process, as well as throughout the year.
Joe graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1998 from the College of Business Administration at St. John’s University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Joe is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans.
