John Lund is the founder and principal at Pacific Northwest Labor Research LLC, a consultancy practice dedicated to helping labor unions streamline process and manage risk.
Previously, John worked under the Obama Administration, first serving as Director of the Office of Labor-Management Standards at the US Labor Department and then as Regional Representative for US Labor Secretary Thomas Perez in the Pacific Northwest and Northern Plains States.
Before John’s White House appointment, he spent nearly 25 years as a professor at the University of Wisconsin, holding a joint appointment in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering and the School for Workers, the oldest university labor education program in North America.
Besides teaching and mentoring undergraduate, law, business and other graduate students, John also developed and taught classes for union members and leaders in subjects ranging from time and motion study to job evaluation, industrial hygiene to ergonomics, collective bargaining to labor law, arbitration to labor history. John is a prolific writer, frequently publishing articles, as well as books.
