Calibre CPA Group and Gallagher Risk Management recently co-hosted a Nonprofit Leaders Forum at Calibre’s Bethesda office. Attendees participated in networking, watched presentations, asked questions, and had the opportunity to earn CPE credits.
The theme of the forum was Staying in Front for 2019: Making Sense of New Risks in Fraud, Cyber and Market Volatility. Speakers from both firms shared their knowledge about how nonprofit leaders can take actionable steps that not only help prevent events like fraud and cyber breaches, but also mitigate consequences that can damage the organization’s reputation.
Arthur E. Budich, CPA, CFE and Partner at Calibre CPA Group, described the main types of fraud nonprofits should be aware of and gave interesting examples from his experience as an auditor.
Phil Fabrizio, CFA and Area Senior Vice President and Area Director at Gallagher, shed light on how to manage risk in volatile financial climates such as that of 2018.
Andrew Moss, Account Executive at Gallagher, presented updates on the latest cyber threats, advising on how to prevent and respond to attacks in today’s information superhighway.
