Kyle Bazzy, Director of Growth for Billhighway, shared his thoughts on the current national labor landscape and what attendees can expect from his presentation.
What do you think is the most important issue or biggest challenge facing national labor unions today?
I believe the biggest challenge for labor unions today is getting the infrastructure in place to help solve the payroll deduction crisis. The technology itself should be simple because the process of organizing and getting members to sign up can be very complex. What you can control must be top quality.
Where do you see room for growth over the next year?
We are seeing unions grow when they embrace the challenge/opportunity of engaging with members and becoming obsessed with the value they derive from the union. With the major changes happening now, members are more easily able to leave the union. Growth will come from members understanding why they should stay and unions engaging with its members in new and better ways.
