WASHINGTON, DC: (September 27, 2023) Calibre CPA Group is pleased to announce that its distinguished partners and staff will be leading informative sessions at the 69th Annual Employee Benefit Plans Conference, organized by the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans (IFEBP). Scheduled from Sunday, October 1 through Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, the event will also offer a virtual participation option for attendees.
“Payroll Auditing Basics”, slated for October 2 at 9:15 am ET and again on October 3 at 2:45 pm ET, will feature co-speakers Mary Margaret Prange, CPA, Partner at Calibre CPA Group PLLC, and Felicia E. Smith, CPA, Senior Payroll Compliance Manager at Calibre CPA Group PLLC. They will discuss the significance of formal payroll audit programs, in-house vs. outsourced audits, the administrator’s role in payroll auditing, and more.
“Finding and Mitigating Fraud” will be led by Arthur E. Budich, CPA, CFE, and Glenn M. Eyrich, CPA, both Partners at Calibre CPA Group PLLC. This session will take place on October 2 at 2:45 pm ET. The focus will be on understanding fraud in the employee benefits industry, covering topics such as detection, prevention tools, and mitigation strategies.
Arthur ‘Art’ E. Budich, CPA, CFE, is a seasoned Audit Partner at Calibre CPA Group with nearly two decades in public accounting. Specializing in tax-exempt organizations, including employee benefit plans, labor unions, and advocacy groups, Art possesses a comprehensive skill set, ranging from audit planning to tax compliance. His expertise extends to conducting fraud investigations and operational audits as part of the Forensic and Risk Advisory team. Art holds credentials as both a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Fraud Examiner. He’s an active member of the AICPA and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
Glenn M. Eyrich, CPA, brings over three decades of public accounting experience to his role as Audit Partner at Calibre CPA Group. Specializing in tax-exempt organizations, Glenn has managed numerous high-profile plan engagements, including those exceeding $1 billion in assets. He spearheads the firm’s professional sports association niche, working with major entities like the NFL Players Association and the NBA Players Association. Glenn actively contributes to industry standards, serving on the FASB’s Not-for-Profit Advisory Committee and holding prominent positions with the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans.
Mary Margaret Prange, CPA, is an Audit Partner at Calibre CPA Group with over two decades of experience in public accounting. Her specialization encompasses not-for-profit entities, ranging from trade associations to labor unions. Mary Margaret has worked extensively with trade associations, employee benefit plans, and more. She also helms the firm’s Continuing Education Committee, overseeing the majority of internal Continuing Professional Education (CPE) programs. Alongside her core auditing roles, she assists clients with consulting projects including accounting software implementation, budgeting/forecasting, and understanding and developing strategies to meet Federal compliance guidelines.
Felicia E. Smith, CPA, serves as a Senior Manager in Calibre CPA Group’s Payroll (Employer Compliance) department, bringing significant expertise in labor union payroll compliance. She oversees fieldwork accuracy, client report quality control, and staff recruitment and training, while continuously optimizing departmental procedures. Regularly interfacing with clients, Felicia adeptly addresses complex issues and ensures compliance.
