At Calibre CPA Group, we are more than just a place to work. We give our employees the resources and tools they need to effectively grow their careers. With offices in metropolitan Washington, D.C., Chicago, IL, New York, NY, and Los Angeles, CA, we seek individuals who want to build successful, rewarding careers in accounting and advisory services. We look for leaders, high performers and skilled innovators who want to be a part of a family, better serve the community and nurture their career paths.
We do more than just say we value work-life balance—we show it. We want our employees to make use of their time off and allow for year-to-year rollover if needed. We encourage them to prioritize family obligations over work demands and offer flexible work arrangements to help them make that a reality.
We believe that knowledge is power, which is why we never stop learning. We offer continuing professional education programs through the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) and provide regular training sessions in a classroom setting to help our employees stay ahead of new developments and continue to grow their careers. We also regularly attend outside training sessions and conferences to ensure that our employees remain at the forefront of the industry.
Our Calibre Cares program and Social Committee provides employees a chance to do their part to make a difference and better connect with their co-workers. Our Calibre Cares program encourages employees to get involved with programs and organizations that mean something to them. Our Social Committee plans monthly social events, giving our employees the chance to get to know each other outside of the office. We have attended Washington Nationals baseball games, gone bowling in Chinatown, taken boat cruises, enjoyed picnics at the National Zoo, hosted blind wine tastings, and celebrated the holidays at the Congressional Country Club (just to name a few).
Our Mentoring and Coaching Program is centered around each individual employee’s unique goals and needs. Mentors are typically assigned to no more than three employees, ensuring each receives plenty of one-on-one attention. Our Mentoring program is open to everyone and also gives each employee input on who their mentor will be.
The Coaching aspect of our program is designed to provide employees with the technical skills and training they need to succeed in their current position as well as resources to help prepare them for the next level in their career. Coaches differ depending on department, and their focus is mainly on shorter term, “on-the-job” skills. This program is closely tied to our training program, giving employees the training they need to be successful in their coaching plans.
Our Diversity & Inclusion Committee and management are committed to encouraging and nurturing a diverse and inclusive environment where everyone feels respected, valued, and heard. We embrace and promote diversity through employee spotlights that reflect various cultures, races, ages, genders, and identities within the firm. We seek to welcome, educate, and collaborate while providing opportunities for feedback through surveys and staff forums.
