Arthur “Art” E. Budich, CPA, CFE, is an Audit partner and member of the Forensic and Risk Advisory team at Calibre CPA Group. He has been in public accounting since 2003. Art has significant audit experience with tax-exempt organizations including trade and professional associations, charitable foundations, advocacy groups, employee benefit plans and labor unions. He has led teams on audits, reviews, compilations and other attestation engagements. Art is also responsible for the internal employee performance evaluation and staff development processes.
Art’s responsibilities include all aspects of engagement performance, including planning, supervising and conducting audit fieldwork; preparing financial statements, auditor’s reports and management letters; and presenting audit results to clients. His tax compliance responsibilities include preparation of annual tax and exempt organization information returns and determining unrelated business income tax liabilities. Art has performed numerous financial and tax engagements as well as compliance examinations in accordance with OMB Circulars A-122, A-133 and Uniform Guidance for organizations receiving Federal awards. As a member of the Forensic and Risk Advisory team, he conducts fraud investigations, internal control reviews operational audits and reviews under COSO and fraud risk assessments. Art also has a working knowledge of government grant administrative requirements and cost principles.
Education and Relationships
Art received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from James Madison University. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the District of Columbia and the Commonwealth of Virginia. Art is a Certified Fraud Examiner and is a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Greater Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants.
