Michelle Carthen, MBA, PHR, SHRM-CP serves as Calibre CPA Group’s Director of Human Resources and has worked in a strategic and operational capacity with organizational leaders since 2007. Michelle is directly responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving HR services, processes, procedures, policies, and programs that support the firm’s strategic objectives, providing efficiencies for the firm.
Prior professional experience includes working with senior leaders in the non-profit, government and private sectors, building human resources programs related to recruiting and retention; employee orientation and onboarding; employee relations and engagement; compensation and benefits; training and development; and organizational development. Prior to becoming a human resource professional, Michelle worked in insurance and risk management building and leading programs in those sectors.
Michelle received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management and an MBA in Management, Health Services Administration from Howard University. She holds a Professional in Human Resources Certification from the Human Resources Certification Institute and a SHRM CP from the Society of Human Resources Management. She has also served on the board of directors for several not-for-profit entities.
