Daniel C. Mackowiak officially retired from the firm, effective 12-31-2014. Mr. Mackowiak’s biographical information follows:
Dan was in the public accounting field since 1972. He was responsible for the firm’s quality control and assurance programs and participated extensively in engagement planning and staff training. Dan was a member of the Accounting and Auditing Services Committee, which sets accounting and auditing standards for the firm’s employees. He consulted on the planning and execution of audit engagements and served as engagement partner for selected clients.
Dan’s areas of experience included planning retreats, strategic acquisitions, financing – placement and renegotiations, litigation support in contract disputes, business valuation, analysis of internal systems and development of related documentation and manuals, contract negotiation, analysis of insurance losses and personnel recruitment.
His expertise in quality control issues extended to a wide variety of industries, including not-for-profit organizations, trade associations, membership organizations, labor unions and employee benefit plans, as well as manufacturing, wholesale distribution, printing and graphic arts, automobile dealerships, legal and other professional services, insurance, health care, construction, retail franchising and real estate.
Dan received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Lewis University in Lockport, Illinois in 1972. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the District of Columbia and the State of Illinois, a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society.
